Bakken East Pipeline Project

Project Overview

WBI Energy Transmission, Inc. (WBI Energy) is exploring the potential development of the Bakken East Pipeline Project. Based on customer interest expressed for the project upon the conclusion of a binding open season in March 2026, WBI Energy has modified project facilities to include approximately 374 miles of natural gas pipeline starting near Watford City, North Dakota to WBI Energy’s existing compressor station near Mapleton, North Dakota inclusive of related aboveground facilities and lateral pipelines.

WBI Energy anticipates the project will be built over two construction seasons and be placed into service in two phases. The first phase is expected to begin in northwestern North Dakota and end in central North Dakota with the second phase to start in central North Dakota and end in eastern North Dakota. The project is designed to transport natural gas from the Bakken producing region in western North Dakota to serve communities and a range of industries throughout the state.
