Wind Ridge Project Overview
WBI Energy Wind Ridge Pipeline, LLC (WBI Energy) was proposing to build, operate and maintain the Wind Ridge Pipeline Project. This project had represented approximately 96-miles of 20-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline between a tie-in along Northern Border Pipeline Company’s existing mainline near Zeeland, North Dakota, and a fertilizer production facility that had been proposed by CHS, Inc. near Spiritwood, North Dakota. The new pipeline facilities would have transported natural gas to the proposed fertilizer plant for manufacturing nitrogen fertilizer.
WBI Energy also proposed to construct affiliated facilities including a 1,000 horsepower compressor station to be located in Stutsman County along with some additional pipeline, metering, and valve settings. The project map depicted the preliminary proposed pipeline route and the locations of some of these facilities.
On Oct. 28, 2015, WBI Energy notified the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission of its intent to withdraw the project from pre-filing review. The project withdrawal notice can be found in FERC Filings.
